I got my very first fanfic yesterday - Mary Beaird wrote me a lovely fairy-tale speculating on Kite's origins. It can be read here. I've often wondered what it would be like to get a fanfic - I love getting fanart - and although it's very different, it's just as good. It's a fantastic feeling, that someone has got so engaged with a character that they feel like drawing or writing about him or her *^.^*
Stuck on my night shift over the weekend, we lost internet access (for all three nights!). Naturally I'd brought stuff to do but I would really rather have been messing around online. In the lack of any connection, I spent the time I should have been comicking on making desktops instead - Looking for the Sun ones, although they only feature Kite and Saryth. I don't really have any good quality colour images of Jig or Aeryn yet (I could conceivably use one of the Jig pictures from a cover. I'll have to see about it). They can be viewed and downloaded (800x600 or 1024x768) here.
