Here may be found photos of our pets, past and present (but not future). Currently we have one cat, Pixel, and one snake, Cinnamon.

Pixel is our newest arrival. We acquired her on the day after Ayacon, the 3rd November 2003, from Kitty Cat Rescue in Slough. It's a long story. She is semi-long-haired and very pretty. She has started to settle in now (13th Nov) but is still wary, especially of strange men (except Moonshadow. Maybe she thinks he's a girl). She likes company but is not always fond of being stroked. She also likes to hide under the sofa when worried or scared.

Sun Kitten got Cinnamon a year before going to university, as young as one can get a snake. She is a Sinaloan milk snake - not venomous nor constricting and about 3 and a half feet long. Milk snakes copy the colouring of the deadly coral snake in an attempt to pretend they are also deadly and thus not nice to eat. They are striped with wide red stripes and narrow black and white stripes thus: red, black, white, black, red. Coral snakes have the red and white touching each other - that's the crucial difference.
Cinnamon has never bitten anyone in her life. She eats 2 mice every three weeks and comes out often to watch the activity in the living room where she lives.

Ellie and Murphy were acquired on the 22nd June 2002. They were, respectively, a mother and daughter and were about 4 and 3 years old when we got them. They came from Wood Green Animal Shelter, and they settled in immediately.

Ellie was very affectionate and liked to be cuddled, on her own terms. She particularly liked climbing over people's shoulders, and she did this to us in the shelter. She also liked hiding in little dark places (like under the bed). She was quite greedy too. She left in October '02 - she ran out one night and, we think, was scared away by the wind blowing the roofs off the flats next door. We will not be too surprised if we get a call in 5 years time when her microchip is finally discovered.

Murphy didn't like being picked up, but liked being stroked and lying next to you on the couch or chair. She didn't go for small places as much as Ellie does, but liked the wardrobe, and scratching the side of the freezer, and lying on our feet at night. Murphy died on October 2nd '03 after being hit by a car the night before.
