Chapter 1: Saryth | This is a text version of chapter 1, in which Kite visits a Duke's castle in search of a sun but finds instead a travelling companion. The castle ends up on fire. |
Chapter 2: Wings of Fire and Steel | This is a text version of chapter 2, in which Kite and Saryth find themselves caught up in the conflict between two warring nations. |
Chapter 3: Lightning in the Sky | This is a text version of chapter 3, in which Saryth acts without thinking, much to Kite's chagrin. |
Chapter 4: One Night's Grace | This is a text version of chapter 4, in which both of them have to deal with the consequences of Saryth's over-hasty actions. It is debateable which one ends up with the bigger headache. |
Interlude: Kite's Story | This is a text version of the short story which comes after chapter 4. It was originally written and drawn for MAMEzine. |
Chapter 5: The Gravity of Ideas | This is a text version of chapter 5, in which Kite and Saryth investigate the suspicious technology behind the flying machines being used in the war. |
Chapter 6: Freedom of Choice | This is a text version of chapter 6, in which Saryth comes face to face with someone in a similar position to him who made a different choice. |
Chapter 7: Beyond the Endless Sky | This is a text version of chapter 7, in which both Kite and Saryth have to make a decision. |
Chapter 8: A World of Difference | This is a text version of chapter 8, in which Kite and Saryth get very cold, and Saryth starts learning about worlds. |
Chapter 9: The Dust of a Peregrine Sun | This is a text version of chapter 9, in which there is an abrupt temperature change, and Kite finds out important information. |
Chapter 10: Random Encounter | This is a text version of chapter 10, in which much world-crossing happens, none of it quite as orderly as Kite would have wished. |
Chapter 11: Mistaken Identity | This is a text version of chapter 11 in which Kite and Saryth and Aeryn get to know each other amidst the outbreak of a plague. |

Interlude: Along the Way | This was originally a short story written back in 2006 (more as practice writing than anything else). The storytelling and style didn't sit well with the novelisation, so I have edited it - in some places quite severely. The original - which was intended to be standalone, and was published in Jigsaw Pieces 1 - can still be read here. |
Chapter 25: Some Dance to Forget | This is a text version of chapter 25, in which preparations are made for returning to Vorannen's world. |
