Mina jumps off her bed and hurries downstairs. Her mother looks up from tending to Mina's little sister. "Where are you off to?" "I need to, uh, check something..." Lying doesn't come easy to Mina, but to her relief her mother doesn't push her for a better explanation. "Be back by curfew!" It's not far to the small square where they'd arrived from Inric's library. The buildings around are not residential, but still, she climbs the stairs nervously, waiting for someone to ask her what she's doing. On reaching the centre of the design, she takes a deep breath and twists the device again. This time there's a click as something within it engages, and the familiar stars bloom before her eyes as her world disappears.
