"Have there been any serious repercussions?" Inric asks Mina.
"Um? Um, no, I don't think so." Before either of them can say any more, Jakin bursts in.
"I'm really sorry!"
"For what?"
"Because of the museum. It was my fault you got hurt. I mean, I thought they were my friends... the book thieves, I mean... I just..." He tails off, head hanging.
"I know what happened," Inric says. He still looks stern, but his tone is more gentle than Mina has heard from him before. "No apology is necessary. I judged the risks for myself."
"I just wanted to read more," Jakin mumbles, almost too quiet to hear.
