"You're training the bookwyrm kits?"
"Apparently not," Inric says, with dry humour.
Colle looks at the toothmarks. "The poor books!"
"They are practice books."
"Ah, they're just for training?"
"Practice for the librarians first, then the bookwyrms." He looks down. "But I do not want to encourage them to chew the books. I will need to do more research."
"I see." Colle puts the book down. "Good luck."
Left alone, Inric turns back to the book, leafing through it absently. His mind drifts back to conversations of thirty years ago.
