"Brother! He's gone!" Cyrward greets Aldus the next morning in great excitement and alarm.
"Good morning to you too," Aldus says mildly. "Do you mean the Seer?"
"Yes!"
Aldus pushes the curtain aside and looks round the small chamber. It is empty. One of the books the Seer had been reading lies on the bed, next to a folded, blood-stained bandage.
"Ah well, I can't say I'm too surprised," Aldus says. "I did think he might wait until he finished the books first, though."
"He's hardly going to come back for them, is he?" Cyrward snaps.
Aldus grins at him. "He might."
