Cyrward leaves with the sunrise, and Aldus sits awkwardly with Inric in the room the Seer had used before.
"Are you sure about this?" he asks eventually. "I thought you didn't want to fight."
"I do not wish to take sides, nor intervene significantly in the conflict."
"But..." Aldus prompts after a moment's silence.
"But it is unfair to use Wil as bait." Inric scowls. "My earlier assistance... I did not discharge my obligations to him."
"But are you going to fight?"
"No," the Seer says, and Aldus gets the feeling he is trying to hide a smile. He changes the subject.
"I'm curious about what you said about magic."
"In what way?"
"I don't understand what happens with I use a charm. So is your magic different?"
"Yes and no. The way in which it is approached differs."
