"I'm Ruan, Kelyn's cousin," Ruan says, inside the wagon. "She's going to pack her things, so I'll stay with you until then." Jory remains silent as Ruan takes his glasses off and comes closer to the bed. "You're the one my Grandpa traded with, aren't you? Tokha leaf for common ragwort?"
"What's your point?"
"Look, I don't know what you do with the ragwort and I don't care about your deals. But it's not above board or we'd be doing a proper trade. Don't get Kelyn caught up in whatever underhanded business you've got going on."
Kelyn, listening from the door, flushes with a mix of embarrassment and irritation.
