A few silent hours later, their wagon finally catches up to the rest of the caravan, which has gathered in a cluster on a broad plain sloping gently down to the sea.
"We're stopping here?" Kelyn asks. "It's only been a few hours."
"It's far enough for a heavy wagon," Jory says, pulling Daisy to a stop and putting the brakes on. He unhitches the kauro and starts to lead her away. "Kelyn, you get us water from the stream. You, Inric, stay with the wagon. Don't let anyone in!"
Inric gets to his feet but stays on the wagon as instructed, looking around with interest. A few wagons over is the one Copper had been interested in last night. A man wearing flowing robes, with vivid tattoos on his bare arms, is standing looking up at it as Nectan emerges from the open door.
"Copper, locate," Inric says thoughtfully in Eldarin.
