Rohin stops at the foot of a spiral staircase. "Are you still angry over what happened with Diran?"
"Of course I am!" Hian snaps. "Rohin, he did nothing wrong! He didn't deserve to be locked up! The Padria should have stood up to the Council!"
"Of course it wasn't fair, but what were they supposed to do? It was the Reeve's daughter he got caught with! They couldn't turn more of a blind eye than they already did!"
"What do you mean?" Hian glares at his back, ascending the stairs ahead of her.
"They didn't bother sending anyone after you and Diran, you know."
"Ah. I did wonder."
"Well, I don't know how it'll be this time, so you probably shouldn't stick around." He pauses at the top of the stairs. "What was the medicine you wanted, by the way?"
