I was listening to the radio this evening, and apparently the government have decided that the nation needs to lose weight, so they're trying to encourage us all to do more in our daily lives. For example, we can exercise when we do the housework. I'm not denying that at all, but if they're trying to make exercise enjoyable, as they have said, then pairing it with chores is not, in my opinion, the way to go. I think they have a point in that more exercise is rarely a bad thing, but I don't like the 'nanny state' thing at all. Is this the government trying to 'nanny' a lazy, sedentary nation or is it a good thing? Or both? Should we get left to our own devices with respect to our individual fitness and health?
Amusingly, I was listening to it while driving to my weekly Tae Kwon-do class.
We're still trying to organise our yaoi-watching weekend (Yami no Matsuei and Gravitation). If you're interested, sign up here.
