Mina's mother turns with a big grin on her face.
"Oh, well done!" she says to Mina's father, who shrugs.
"Well," he says, "I'm not sure it was me."
"What do you mean?"
"They had the order signed and ready when I arrived. Someone made a decision somewhere, and I don't think I had much to do with it. I just had to wait for them to bring him over."
"The important thing is that he's home." Mina's mother heads back to the table. Mina abandons the potatoes and trudges upstairs, trying to work out what she's feeling.
