Inric is stroking Copper when Magistra Colle comes back inside the cave.
"Ah, good morning," she says. "Although I think it's good afternoon by now." She goes inside and kneels by her bag. "Everyone else seems to have found somewhere else to be. Tell me, do you think stories matter?"
"I think truth matters," Inric says. The shift in conversation is reminiscent of the discussions in which he had once participated in the Great Library. "I think stories have a great deal of power, and it is much easier to start a war with a story than to end one."
"Hmm, yes. Well." Magistra Colle turns and holds out a book, and Inric doesn't need Copper's sudden tension to know which book it is. "It's time I gave this back to you, I think."
