Inric is picking through a bookshelf and choosing volumes for Mina and Jakin when Magistra Colle arrives.
"Magister Inric," she says, looking concerned. "Would you rather the two children with horns didn't learn your language?"
"If they wish to learn, they should be taught." He stares at the back of the book he is holding, trying to gauge its suitability as a teaching tool. He can't get past the first sentence with her staring at him.
"But you don't want to teach them, do you?" It is uncomfortably close to the truth.
"I have no specific objection," Inric says, and puts the book back on the shelf, mainly as a way to avoid her gaze. "I am preparing texts for them."
"I see." She doesn't sound convinced.
