When Kelyn opens the door to Jory's wagon, she is dismayed to see it empty.
"Where's Eliud?" She turns to Peran, who is the leading stretcher bearer.
"He didn't come this time. Didn't Jory say?"
"Come on, he's heavy!" Esel says from the far end of the stretcher. Between the two of them, they heave the unconscious Jory inside and onto the bed at the far end.
"I'll stay with him for now," Kelyn says, remembering her promise to Jory to stay with him. She hadn't realised then what that would entail.
"Good," Peran says. "I'll give you some willow bark for his headache."
He leaves a small bag on the table and closes the door behind himself and Esel. Kelyn sits on the bench and glares at Jory.
"Now how am I supposed to look for my books?"
