Hian gets to her feet, smiling. "I'll be as quick as I can."
"Don't feel you have to hurry back. Enjoy Tamarai - it's been a long time since you were in town."
"Honestly, I haven't missed it." Hian goes through to the main room, where Janara passes her her bow.
"Take care of her," Hian says, accepting the bow and slinging the strap around her shoulders.
"I will. Travel safe." Rina and Maya, playing together by the table, don't even look up as Hian leaves.
Outside, Ulin is holding the donkey's halter and Samil is squatting by its head, gazing thoughtfully at it. Ruwen is standing by the panniers, but Nikhil is slouched against the fence a bit further off, looking resentful.
"You got all the preserves packed as well as the herbs?" Hian asks.
"Yes, all safe." Ruwen pats one of the stuffed panniers.
"Can I come next time?" Samil asks.
"We'll see." Hian takes the halter from Ulin and turns the donkey. "Come along, Nikhil."
