Magic Turing Machine v4: Teysa / Chancellor of the Spires
The Cards
The game state is as follows:
It's a four player game. We'll call the players Alex, Bob, Cathy, and
Denzil. Alex controls the Turing tape of Ally and Zombie
tokens.
Processing happens on Bob's turn, in order to get the assorted
triggers on the stack in the right order, thanks to the AP-NAP
rule.
The Battlefield
Many of these cards have been hacked by one or more castings of Artificial Evolution and/or Mind Bend. (If you're worried about casting
more than 4 Artificial Evolution and Mind Bend, you can use Djinn Illuminatus and/or Izzet Guildmage.) All creatures marked with * in
this list are all type-changed with Unnatural Selection to be
Yetis, which thanks to a pair of hacked Dralnu's Crusades means they're also
both Allies and Zombies, so that they don't get killed by the
machine's execution.
The cards on the battlefield are as follows:
- Kazuul Warlord*, controlled by Alex, still reading its
original text, which reads "Whenever ~this~ or another Ally enters the
battlefield under your control, you may put a +1/+1 counter on each
Ally creature you control."
- Kazuul Warlord*, controlled by Alex, hacked to read
"Whenever ~this~ or another Zombie enters the battlefield under your
control, you may put a +1/+1 counter on each Zombie creature you
control."
- Noxious Ghoul*, controlled by Bob, reading its original
text, "Whenever ~this~ or another Zombie enters the battlefield, all
non-Zombie creatures get -1/-1 until end of turn."
- Noxious Ghoul*, controlled by Bob, hacked to read
"Whenever ~this~ or another Ally enters the battlefield, all non-Ally
creatures get -1/-1 until end of turn."
- Aether Flash, controlled by Cathy
- Serra Aviary
- Mirror Gallery
- Six copies of Teysa, Orzhov Scion*, all controlled by
Alex, all granted phasing with Teferi's Curse or Cloak of Invisibility, all triple-hacked, and three of them phased out by Reality Ripple:
- Phased-In Teysa A says "Whenever a red creature dies, make a
green Ally."
- Phased-In Teysa B says "Whenever a green creature dies, make
a red Ally."
- Phased-In Teysa C says "Whenever a blue creature dies, make a
white Dryad."
- Phased-Out Teysa D says "Whenever a red creature dies, make a
white Drake."
- Phased-Out Teysa E says "Whenever a green creature dies, make
a red Zombie."
- Phased-Out Teysa F says "Whenever a blue creature dies, make
a white Dragon."
The fifth and sixth Teysa were cast by a different player and donated with a
Bazaar Trader. They must not be tokens, because tokens disappear when phased out.
- Rotlung Reanimator*, controlled by Bob, hacked to say
"Whenever a Dragon dies, make a red Ally."
- Rotlung Reanimator*, controlled by Bob, hacked to say
"Whenever a Dryad dies, make a green Zombie."
- Rotlung Reanimator*, controlled by Bob, hacked to say
"Whenever a Drake dies, make a blue Zombie."
- Wheel of Sun and Moon, enchanting Denzil
- Skirk Drill Sergeant*, controlled by Denzil, hacked to
say "Whenever ~this~ or another Sphinx dies, you may pay 2R. If you
do, reveal the top card of your library. If it's an Sphinx permanent
card, put it onto the battlefield. Otherwise, put it into your
graveyard." and equipped with Slagwurm Armor
- Carnival of Souls, controlled by Denzil
- Platinum Emperion*, controlled by Denzil
- Rotlung Reanimator*, controlled by Bob, hacked to say
"When an Illusion dies, make a blue Illusion."
- Unnatural Selection
- Dralnu's Crusade, hacked to say all Yetis are also
Allies and are black
- Dralnu's Crusade, hacked to say all Yetis are also
Zombies and are black
- Dralnu's Crusade, hacked to say all Dragons are also
Advisors and are black
- Dralnu's Crusade, hacked to say all Dryads are also
Advisors and are black
- Dralnu's Crusade, hacked to say all Drakes are also
Advisors and are black
- Dralnu's Crusade, hacked to say all Advisors are also
Sphinxes and are black
- Three copies of Shared Triumph set to Advisors
- Five copies of Engineered Plague, set to Sphinxes (they may be owned by different players)
- At least one untapped mana-producing land controlled by Denzil
- There can be any number of lands controlled by any of the
players, which helps when setting this up. There can be other
enchantments and artifacts too if desired.
Other Zones
There are requirements for other zones as well.
Bob's graveyard contains just one card: Time and Tide.
Other players' graveyards contain no instant or sorcery cards.
Denzil's library contains just one card: Chancellor of the Spires.
Earlier This Turn
We require that earlier this turn:
- Denzil has cast False Dawn. Since it's Bob's turn, this
probably required a Vedalken Orrery. This probably also had to
happen before Denzil's Wheel of Sun and Moon resolved in order
to keep Denzil's library down to one card.
- Alex has cast Gather Specimens.
- Each of these instants and sorceries need to have been exiled or
otherwise no longer be in graveyards, for example by a Withered Wretch.
So How Does It Work?
