Yes, I'm a Christian, a friend of Jesus Christ, and not ashamed to say it!

I've been a Christian for over two years now! (I had a "birthday" party on the 31st March 1998, to mark exactly 1 year...)
For a basic explanation of what I believe as an "evangelical" Christian, there's a great site that the Cambridge Christian Union points people to called Two Ways to Live.
Alternatively, for a somewhat more informal presentation ;-), check out Chan's page here...
Jesus Inside!

Why I Became Christian

I came to Jesus during my gap year. It all started at a rather wonderful gig of the Dorset-based Christian band Ignite. It was on Saturday 29th March, 1997 - the day before Easter Sunday. I'd been a scientific atheist up to this point, but at the concert I saw and felt some amazing things that really challenged my unbelief. I had an atheistic upbringing, but with Christianity 'in the background' (GCSE Religous Education, etc): this meant that after I had some long chats with some Christian friends over the next couple of days, I basically realised that the God who I hadn't believed in was all-loving and all-knowing: He wants the absolute best for me, and He's uniquely qualified to say what that is - certainly much better than I could hope to do. And so now that my unbelief had crumbled, I realised the best - the only - logical thing I could do was to turn my life over to Him.

And that's how it started. I asked Jesus into my life, He washed away my old ways and gave me a new sense of purpose / direction. I've been growing in my knowledge and relationship with Him ever since.

Having only found Jesus in my gap year, I didn't know what being part of a Christian Union would be like. I was pleasantly surprised. Both the Robinson CU and CICCU (the inter-collegiate, Cambridge-wide CU) are both enormously welcoming, non-denominational, completely God-centred, joyful, evangelistic organisations, and I fitted completely naturally in. They're a great bunch.

Deliriou5?

I've seen the UK's biggest Christian band, Delirious?, live 3 times! The most recent was at Cambridge Corn Exchange on the 25th of February 1998.
